mani-monday.

i've gone through stages with these 'ol nails of mine.
when i was a kid i bit my nails.
my dad did, so i did. {a little reminder that our kiddos DO watch us!}

when i was in school i went through phases of having acrylic nails put on.
i love the look of acrylics but i do not love what they do to your nails.
talk about tearing them up!
and i lost a couple real nails by getting acrylics...like, having them RIPPED off!
for real.

now, i'm all about keeping my nails at a shorter length and painted.
i do love to go have a manicure done at the salon.
there's something about the hand massage and someone else painting your nails.
i'm sure we agree here.
yes?

however, i can't go to the salon every week.
so, i do it myself.

It's not #manimonday but, momma got a new mani. Well, done at home, by me. @glitterglosshg

hello, accent nail!

have you seen this look yet?
i really don't see it around town.
i do see it all over instagram and the blogs i follow.
and i love it!

now when i paint my nails and leave the accent nail plain i feel like i've done it all wrong.

you can do a little design, like i did {with scotch tape as my secret weapon} or you can paint the whole nail a different color.

do you paint an accent nail??

linking up with heather over at glitter and gloss.

I love the accent nail look, but so far I've stuck to subtle differences, not a full-on different color. The little green triangle in your mani is perfect, and I love the color combo!

I love doing the accent nail! I do it to my kids too. I saw your triangle on IG, so I tried it on my older daughter. I guess the base color wasn't completely dry yet, and I totally screwed it up. UGH! But we will be trying again. Thanks for the cute ideas, Melissa!
