We Love Portland, Maine!

Last month, we went to visit great friends, who have become like family, in Maine. Each year when we arrive, we go into Portland to sight-see, have dinner at an amazing seafood restaurant called Dimillo's on the Water, and buy souvenirs. Yes, we buy our souvenirs on day one...it makes sense to do it right at the beginning. Trust me. Plus, I have a t-shirt that I've bought for Mabry each year with a lobster that says, "I'm a Keepah!" That shirt is a must-have each year, along with a tea towel calendar for the next year, and whatever else I find that I can't go home without. This year I added a lobsterman nutcracker to our collection. I imagine next year it'll be those THREE items and more!

{this is the only proof I have of the amazingness that is Dimillo's on the Water. This Lobster Stew is something I crave 364 days of the year. It is truly delicious. If you find yourself at Dimillo's, ask to be seated in Erin's section. She's been our waitress for the last three years, and she's a doll!}

{The Love Locks Project, located in the heart of Portland, ME on Commercial Street. Hundreds of locks marked or engraved with the initials of couples in love are locked here. Tradition states that the key is thrown into a nearby body of water. Seeing that the harbor is just on the other side, it's likely that each key is on the water's floor.}

Each November I look forward to visiting the Hutchins family, and to explore more of Maine. While the reason we go is to remember Andrew "Hutch" Hutchins and visit with his widow, daughter, brother, and parents, we have also come to enjoy the lovely scenery and landmarks.

Until next year, Maine. See you soon, Hutchins family. We miss you already!

That looks like a fun visit. I have always wanted to visit Maine. Someday!
