How PLEXUS Changed My Easter Photo This Year

We had such a wonderful day yesterday! Our day started, as it does every Sunday, at church. After church we went out to our family's house in Starke, FL and enjoyed spending time with loved ones that we don't see often enough.

When we got home last night I was thinking of how different this Easter was from last Easter. For starters, I wore a sleeveless dress. I'm not a fan of anything that shows parts of me that I'm not happy with and my arms have always been a part I wasn't happy with. Until now. I love my dress and how I felt in it. Another difference in this Easter from last was that I had more energy to help Mabry with hunting eggs. Instead of sitting back and watching my kids RUN and pick up every brightly colored, plastic, treasure-filled egg, I was ready and willing to get out there WITH them!!! The last difference I noticed from this Easter to last years was that I am not hiding behind my family in our photo. I didn't think that I did that before...but, as I search for before photos to show you on my weight loss journey, I am having a hard time finding any that I'm not behind my kids or that it's not just my face.

Happy Easter from all of us! {two times in one week, y'all.}

Happy Easter from all of us!
2014

If you follow me on any social media platform, you know that I started taking Plexus in September of 2014. And that I've been working out in a gym quite regularly. I made a decision that enough is enough and it was time to break the hold that sugar and processed foods had on me. Since September, I've lost about 30 pounds and I've lost count of the inches. I'm down TWO pants sizes.

The struggle is real, you guys. Weight loss is hard work. If you're trying SO HARD to lose the weight, or to just get healthy in general, remind yourself that you didn't put that weight on overnight, so it isn't going to come off overnight. Persistence will lead to perseverance! Never give up! How ever you need to boost your self confidence to not quit, tell yourself that over and over!!!

If you want to learn more about Plexus, email me {jonahbonahinjax@gmail.com}, call me, text me, DM me....GET IN CONTACT WITH ME! Together we can make your goals a reality!!

Resurrection Buns {a kids craft and recipe}

this is a repost from a few years ago when i made resurrection buns with my boys.
what a fun {and yummy} way to teach littles about the death, burial and resurrection of our savior.

enjoy!

***

So, the night before Easter the big boys and I made these very neat Resurrection Buns. I can't take credit for the recipe or the directions and my mind that left long ago can't remember even where I found the recipe....but, I digress. Here's what we did.

First, grab your ingredients.
Photobucket

1 can of Grands biscuits
Cinnamon and Sugar
Marshmallows
melted Butter

Flatten each biscuit to about 5 inches round, then "paint" it with butter

Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. (you can tell the kiddos that this represents the spices that were used to anoint Jesus' body) Place a big marshmallow in the middle and pull all of the sides up to make a ball. (the white marshmallow respresents Jesus being pure and sinless) Place the ball on your cookie sheet seams down...so it doesn't open while baking.
Photobucket

Please excuse him....he gives me a different face for every picture...but, rarely a smile.

Again, "paint" your bun and then sprinkle more cinnamon and sugar.

Just out of the oven...YUMMMMMM!
Photobucket

The bun is empty...where did that pure and sinless Jesus go???? He is risen!!

Easter Sunday...

Every Sunday morning is an exciting morning in our home. With four kiddos and two adults to dress, and breakfast to eat, and Bibles to grab...it gets a little hectic.

There's one little one who EVERY Sunday throws a fit over Mommy's choice of wardrobe for him. Jake Austin. This particular Sunday he had new duds, they all had new duds, (thanks Grandma!) and I even discussed with Jake what he would be wearing. He said ok. THEN, on Sunday morning....wow!!! He had a meltdown. He did NOT want to wear a collared shirt. And if I would let him wear jeans then he would wear the collared shirt. UGH!!! I did not give in though. He looked handsome and well, it doesn't matter...he was wearing what I wanted him to wear!!! (who's whining now???? :o) I just want my kiddos to look nice. Is that too much to ask??)

So, here he is. He's finished with the crying. He had moved on to pouting!

Oh well, better luck next year!

Did you have a fun, family filled Easter?????

Easter fun...

Well, I still can't find the memory card for my camera...so I'm relying on old pictures. But, I found a good one!

This was Easter last year at our house. Aunt Kris was here, Daddy was here, all the grandparents were here...good day!

I hope you have a super fun weekend! And, don't forget...Easter isn't about bunnies and baskets! Christ is risen!

...

I'm looking forward to Easter this year!!! I look forward to it every year but this year I have plans...I want to make this bread craft with the boys....it's a bread that when taken from the oven is hollow...just as Christ's tomb was on the third day. I'll dig up the recipe and share soon!

I want to dye Easter eggs. We haven't done that in a few years. (bad momma, I know)

Will you share some of the crafts and such you have planned???

I wonder if I'll be able to get a photo of ALL FOUR kiddos on Easter this year...I don't think I have one yet and McKinley's 3 months old. And don't even ask when the last time was that we had a family photo taken!!!! :o(
