Send a Care Package Filled with SUNSHINE

Have you ever wanted to send someone a care package that they won't soon forget. I mean, the idea behind sending a care package isn't to draw attention to yourself, it's the exact opposite, actually. But, when you put together items to mail off to a far away land that will brighten someones day, you want it to be memorable. Yes? Yes!

A while ago, I saw this SUNSHINEY idea on Pinterest and knew that one day I would put together my own box of sunshine to send to someone. And I did. Earlier this month I sent this box to my best friend in Washington. We became friends twelve years ago, and since then she's moved from Florida to Japan, from Japan to Washington, from Washington to Maryland, from Maryland back to Washington. Even when she's thousands of miles away, we can pick up the phone and talk like we've never missed a day! They say you can count the number of your true friends on one hand. Tis true.

This is a simple idea. You go into any store and walk around to find all things yellow! {or, you can scour Amazon for all things yellow!} In my box there was TRUE lemon drink mix, silly yellow party glasses, Sour Patch Kids candies, LemonHead candies, Birthday Cake flavored Oreos, yellow hand sanitizer, Lay's Original Potato Chips, Wet Ones antibacterial wipes, EOS Lip Balm, Raisinets, yellow silly string, Cover Girl mascara in yellow packaging, Butterfinger candy bar, Trident gum in yellow packaging. Fun, right?!

{Put all of the goodies in a box with some bright yellow tissue paper. I added an Alex and Ani BEST FRIENDS bracelet, too.}

{I used a fun Duck Tape brand duct tape to wrap the box before shipping.}

Let me know you if have sent or will send a box of sunshine sometime soon. Tag me in your photos on IG, I'm @jonahbonah

super fun snail mail.

Did you know you can send those theatre boxes of candy through the mail? Yep! Just address them, stamp them and make a little boy or girls day! {I sent these to my cousin's kiddos. What kid doesn't like getting mail?!?!?!} #dosomethingkind

i love getting mail. well, i love getting happy mail.

you know who loves getting happy mail even more than i do???
kids.
my kids, my nieces and nephews, my cousins kids, and just about any kiddo i know.

last week i went into walmart and bought a couple boxes of theatre candy.
they were $1.00 each.

then, i addressed them just the way they were. i didn't wrap them or put them in a new box or anything. i addressed them just the way they came.

next, i took them to the post office to be stamped. they were only about $1.50 each to ship.

the best part? hearing that it was a HIT from their mom!

kelsey and koen, my cousin's kiddos LOVED getting their very own happy mail!!!

this is definitely something i will be doing again and again!

who can you send happy mail to?
do it today!
