so. much. fun.

the boys have had a week filled with...
fun.
scripture memorizing.
songs.
dancing.
friends.
good food.
crafty goodness.
missions.
prayer.
and more fun.
so much fun, in fact, that i'm praying they sleep all the way home to kentucky tomorrow!
i should probably start praying that prayer now.
hold on.

after jett sang this song he spotted me.
and then ran to me.
and then wanted no part of standing on stage.
so, he sang his songs from his seat.

another successful night.

my boys are having a blast at VBS.
there were 275 kiddos there on sunday night.
God is so good!

i took these photos in the worship rally.
at the end of their singing time they take an offering for a specially chosen ministry.
the boys and girls are asked to bring in pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters all week.
every night they not only turn their spare change in, they battle it out.
if the girls win then the childrens director gets to ride the 'covered wagon' out.
if the boys win the the worship leader gets to ride the 'covered wagon' out.
of course, the kids all get very excited and hoot and hollar through the whole ordeal.
it is SO FUN to watch!!!

here's a peek at jake's classroom.
he has three college age teachers.
the are all so great!
(the hubs actually taught the two guys in his sunday school class a few years ago.)
one of them, jack, built the bunkbeds that are used as a prop in the classroom.
jake thinks they are SO COOL.

you can almost always find jett "walking" around the edge of the pool.
all the while he's getting little sores on the bottoms of his toes.
i had never heard of such until this summer.
leave it to my kids.

it's that time again.

saddle ridge ranch.
yee-haw, cowboy's.
i'm talking about vbs.
vacation bible school.
at fort caroline baptist church.

i think i look forward to this week every summer even more than my boys do.
and this year jett can go without me being a helper.
yay!
five nights.
two hours and forty-five minutes with no screaming, arguing, "he touched me" boys.

more than that, it's a time of learning.
they will learn a new bible verse every night.
they'll learn to play well with others.
they'll learn new songs.
new dances.
make new friends.
make lasting memories.
it's going to be an amazing week.

pictures to come.

mushy.

i'm in a very mushy mood these last few days.
i miss my husband.
i think i'm really ready for another baby.
my boys are actually being good.
a little.
mckinley is growing up way too fast.
she's growing out of 2T clothing...
she's 18 months old.
she's becoming a toddler more and more everyday.

my new found love...of books.

i did it.
i finished.
i never would have thought.
me.
a non-reader.
someone who did not like to read.
or wouldn't take the time to read.
i just finished a five book series of novels.
novels.
as in 30+ chapters in each book.
all five of them in only four weeks.
can you believe it?
me.
i did it!!!
i'm more proud of myself than i think anyone else would be.
yay me!!!

my bestie, tera, is sending me the next series that ties into the baxter family drama that karen kingsbury writes.
another five books.
i might go into withdrawals until that package arrives at my doorstep.

which books do i love so much?
karen kingsbury books.
christian novels.
she and gary smalley are so amazing at adding the most perfect scripture in just the right place.
to really get you thinking.
and praying.
and thanking God for your own family.

(photo has nothing to do with post.

jonah, 2007)

thank you Lord for all you've given me.
thank you for a husband that adores me.
children who look up to me.
and friends who build me up.
who love me...for me.
amen.
