Black Friday shopping, Anyone?

(photo found at crunchgear.com)
The Hubs and I decided to take a gander through the Black Friday ads yesterday.
We found too many deals to not take advantage of.
There was a catch.
If I wanted to get in on the good deals I had to go while the Hubs slept.
Let the games begin.
My mother-in-law and I left the house last night at 11:30pm.
Yes, 11:30pm.
She wanted to go to the St. Augustine Outlets....she's into that kinda thing.
I'd rather wait for a sale near home.
I got a few things but, nothing I couldn't have gotten closer to home.
I digress.
We left the outlets at 4:15am...
One hour off schedule due to a line that was CraZy long at Gymboree. (there were good deals to be had there, I have to admit)
Moving on.
We got to Target at 4:54.
Just in time to get a freebie bag and take off running (yes, I ran) towards the Doorbusters.
I got everything that the Hubs and I had circled in the flyer.
Then it was off to WalMart.
Again, I was able to snag all the Doorbusters deals that we had circled.
Yay!
My Christmas shopping is almost complete.
I hope now that my boys will give me a few more ideas for little things.
I need to get stocking stuffers.
Poor McKinley....I need to pick her up one or two things.
That's it.
Am I the only one who can't wait for Christmas to be over.
I'm over it.
Maybe one year we'll say 'no gifts' and only have a Birthday Party for Jesus.
That's what it's all about anyway!

Happy Thanksgiving, Turkey!
That's what my mom said when I picked up the phone this morning.
She called me Turkey.
Can you believe that?
I'm no turkey!
I had a very good day today.
I watched the parade in NY...at home, of course...not in NY. You're silly.
I ate good food.
I spent time with good people.
I sat on my bum and relaxed.
That's what you do on Thanksgiving, right?
What am I most thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I know it's cliche.
Ready for it?
I'm most thankful for my family!

I know you've seen these pictures before.
I'm being lazy and not uploading new ones.
I will.
Tomorrow.

Glade deal at Target
Let me start off by saying that I do realize that showing you my good deals AFTER the sale is over doesn't help you at all. I'm sorry. I will try to get better at posting when I get them so that you can also take advantage.
So, this deal is what they call "dead". But, keep your eye open for more great Glade deals!!! There have been lots of Glade coupons and specials in the past couple of weeks.

Total= $3.21
How?
Each Glade tin was $2.50. There was a $1.50 coupon in each tin. When you purchased five Target would give you a $5.00 gift card. So, $12.50-$7.50=$5.00, receive a $5.00 for every five purchased...equals FREE!!!
Then, I discovered E.L.F. Cosmetics over at resourcefulmommy.com...only $1.00 each! Can't beat it for a gal who wears make-up only once, maybe twice a week! (and loses it half the time!)
Now, my face looks decent and my house smells YUMMY!!! Yay ME!!!
Here's a recent pic of the Hunky Hubs and my new and improved, E.L.F. Cosmetics wearin', decent mug...

(pardon the blurry pic...it's the best I could get with the phone and my arm stretched to the max and an impatient hubby! You can almost see his face sayin' "HURRY UP!")

OtterBox Defender Review
The Hubs splurged a while back and got me an iPhone. Thank you, Hubs!
While it is, by far, the best and nicest phone I have EVER owned, it is also the most fragile.
I knew I was in for a world of hurtin' if one of the kiddos dropped this bad boy...like they've done any other phone I've ever had....in the water, on the ground, in the sand...you name it!
Enter the OtterBox Defender Series Case...pink.
I contacted OtterBox and spoke to a very sweet Kelly who promptly dropped me a package in the mail.
A couple of days later I received a box...an OtterBox!

I called The Hubs right away. "Babe, you aren't going to believe it...I just got my OtterBox" Is it silly that I get excited over a cell phone case? No! Here's why...
Why do I love my OtterBox Defender Series Case in Pink? (Black, Black/Yellow and White are also available)
The Polycarbonate skeleton (we'll get to that in a moment) has a screen cover to protect from scratches. I get a real sense of security when I snap (did you get that? it snaps into place, not slips onto or slides over...your phone is CrAZy protected!!!) the Polycarbonate skeleton around my phone. The Silicone Skin will absorb all the bumps and bruises along my journey...and withstand any test my kiddos put it to! That's THREE layers of protection!!
I'm not brave enough to run over my phone with my car or intentionally drop it in a puddle of water...but, reviews I read prior to receiving my Defender Series case state that the phone stands up to even those tests!!!
One statement made to me was "I like to put my phone in my back pocket and that case looks like its bulky" It's NOT! I can push this into my back pocket just fine. And my thinking, although not always the greatest, is that the Silicone Skin would "grip" your jeans, if you will, and keep your iPhone from falling out. Maybe not. But, it sure beats forgetting to take your phone out of your back pocket and it falling into the toilet! (megan, haha)
I am SUPER thrilled with my new OtterBox Defender Series Case. I will recommend it again and again.

Ninnie likes it too!!

The small print...if only I knew how to make my print small...
OtterBox was generous enough to give me this Defender Series Case in exchange for my review. Although I did receive it for free, I am being completely honest in saying that it is the BEST case on the market!
Even the guy at the Genius Bar at Apple told me that I should absolutely buy an OtterBox! He also told me that the Defender Series Case is great for Scuba Divers to Construction Workers....bringing up three boys is construction, right?
Please note: the Defender is NOT waterproof!

last fall picture for the year....i hope!
I'm getting geared up for Christmas.
I'm ready for The Big Man himself to be EVERYWHERE!
I'm very excited to see red and green and lotsa bright, twinkling lights.
I'm SO done with fall.
This is, hopefully, the last fall picture you'll see here.

(please excuse the poor quality. my photos are strugglin' these days...i think being sick for so long is taking it's toll. and it was taken with the iPhone)
Did I mention the weather has been in the 40's?
Have you noticed that almost all of the leaves have fallen off the trees?
Have you pulled through Starbuck's for your favorite Holiday flavored Latte?
That in itself will put ya in the Christmas spirit!
It will for a Floridian anyway...
Come on Christmas!

my Target deals...
So, I've been out of the whole couponing routine for quite a few months now...until yesterday.
I set out to take advantage of three SUPER deals at Target and was lucky enough to find the products still on the shelf!

4 boxes of Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats- $2.66 each, buy 3 get 1 FREE, used $1 off each box Target coupon AND 2 $1.50/2 Kellogg's coupons
4 bags of Kraft marshmellows- $1.19 each, used $1/2 Target coupon x2
2 Energy Smart lightbulbs- $2.67 each, used $2 off Target coupon on each AND $1.25/2 MFR coupon
1 package of LUVS diapers- $7.49, used $5.00 MFR coupon
1 pair of UBER cute socks- $5.00
--------------------------
Total before coupons?
$33ish
Total after coupons?
$9.78!!!
My diapers were $7.49 all by themselves! (but, I had a $5.00 coupon)
My socks were $5.00 all by themselves! (I don't feel bad for paying full price!)
Good deals, huh?
I know!
I'm good.
You can be too!
Just watch the ads and/or Google Target Deal and you can catch a great deal too!
Just for sillies...
Jett bit a teeny hole at the end of the marshmellow bag without me noticing.
I caught him trying to pull one out!
Sneaky guy.

my Princess...
I can't think of a catchy title.
I don't have anything witty to say...do I ever?
I just really love this picture.

The Hubs and I were all dressed up and ready to go to the Ball. Really. The Ball. The Annual Military Police Army Ball. Like a fairy tale, huh?
Before we left I picked up my phone and snapped a pic of Ninnie and I. It wasn't until later that I saw that she was looking at me (aaawwwwwww) instead of the camera/phone. Love that girl!
You'll get more from this night later.

My Halloween Cuties
SO many of you have asked...here they are. The long awaited (ok, three days awaited)Halloween photos.
First up, the sequence of horrible group shots. I am just convinced it is IM.POSS.I.BLE to get a decent photo of four kiddos together. You a professional? Want to prove me wrong? I'm in Kentucky! :o)

I even had somewhat of an advantage...two of them didn't even have to be looking at me, just in my general direction! And still, not one good photo.
Individuals were a bit better. Not as I'd hoped. Better.

"Let's go Trick or Treating, y'all!"

We have here a very uncooperative Mickey Mouse..."Just give me my sucker and I'm out."

The cutest little ninja I ever did see!

"Even Darth Vader fears me!!"

I cannot say enough good things about our first Trick or Treating experience here on post. Everyone was friendly and there were TONS of houses with their lights on or they were even outside waiting on the kids. Jake commented that he felt like this was what it may have been like in the 50's. Hundreds of children walking with their parents and so, so many dressed up! I loved that even the teenagers dressed up!!
I am so glad it's over....yet, I can't wait for next year!
