christmas craft #3

i set out to make a craft a day for 14 days.
i made it TWO days.
this is only our third craft.
fail!

but, i'm playing catch-up thanks to meg's great ideas!

because i stalk her read her blog every day i came across a very cute craft or two.

ready for the cuteness?

you begin with little squares of felt.
{i bought a couple packages of random colors at the walmart and just started cutting away. my mother-in-law may have helped...}


then, you take a needle and thread and begin stringing them in any pattern your little heart desires.
or, if you're jett, you have no plan at all. just add felt pieces until you're too tired to continue.






when you can make a circle with your string of felt tie it off.
i also hot glued mine...cause meg said she did.
then i tied a ribbon.
done.
easy-peasy.

Summer Vacation, part six.

sand dunes.
great big sand dunes.
make-your-body-ache-the-next-day sand dunes.
babies.
cute boys.
aunt kris and unlce adam.

one Hubs missin' momma.
and...the desert.









jake climbed to the very top of this dune!
it doesn't look like much...
i'll vouch for him...
it was huge.
i made it to the top of the small (still huge) one.
i only made it halfway up this gigantic one.

i like it so much that i think others might too.


jake austin came over and plucked my beautiful desert flowers just after my photo and added them to the rock message.


despite the bunches of kids and rowdiness all arouund, i could still hear the sounds of nature.
i would never want to live in or near the desert but, the few minutes that i had alone while my boys played was so serene.
i could hear this little guy from quite a distance.

Summer Vacation, part four.

if washington isn't enough...
we decided to take a mini road trip to idaho to see ant kris, uncle adam, and baby noah.
on the way we stopped to see mount rainier, alder dam, and a few other things.









(judging by the crossed arms, i'm thinking jake is too cool (at eight) to get his picture taken)

i'll attempt to capture a shot of two of my children together.

even if it was a bit forced.


it is crazy beautiful in washington.
i would totally urge you to visit!

after a really long drive through washington, oregon, and finally into idaho we finally got to this little guy.

She climbed a mountain...

I got an email from my sister-in-law the other day...
She went and cut down her own Christmas tree.
How cool is that?
She climbed the mountain,
her, her Hubs and their dog,
and they found the PERFECT tree and
Cut. It. Down.
Stinkin' neat!
Did I mention she's NINE months pregnant?
She climbed a mountain.
Really?
Brave girl!


Now, as you can see in this picture, she does NOT appear to be nine months preggo.
Maybe that's how she climbed a mountain.

If I looked this good at nine months preggo, I might have kids ALL THE TIME!


We can't wait to meet her new baby boy!!!
And she can't either.
Come out into the world, Baby!
